Is Leap Year an astrological thing?
What is the Astrological significance of February 29th?
I’ve been asked this question a few different times this past week and have answered it honestly each time.
There is no astrological significance to February 29th which is also known as Leap Year.
No planetary bodies have an exact 4 year cycle that clang any bells on February 29th. The Universe doesn’t even have any fixed stars influencing around the 11° of Pisces which is approximately where the Sun crosses every February 29th.
Nothing astrologically significant occurs.
The reason for February 29th is to realign the leftover calendar year.
Time Magazine has an interesting article on the history of it here:

Because of this time shift the Sun does not always return to the degree and minute you were born on your calendar birthday.
Speaking of birthdays… an astrological solar return chart can be cast for the minute the Sun returns to the position it was at, at the time you were born.
Why is this important?
Three reasons:
The solar return chart will show a theme for the upcoming year of your life. What parts of your life will be most activated and by what kinds of energy. It’s pretty cool.
Because the year is setting in our souls we are normally exhausted the night before our solar return. But when is that? The day of your birthday? Two days before or the day after? It’s good to know if you’re planning any sort of birthday get together.
The veil between the physical world and the spiritual world is much thinner than it normally is. The 24 hour period before your solar return is an excellent time for Law of Attraction practices. The night before your solar return is also a time when psychic dreams occur. Pay attention to them and write them down.
If you’re not sure when your birth time is it is normally on your birth certificate. A lot can still be done without a birth time but a solar return chart does require one.
